1961 Jaguar XKE Engine Etype Motor 3.8 Liter Series 1 E Type Engine Matching HEAD and BLOCK R3283-9 Triple SU

This is a 1961 (1-12-61) Stamped XKE R Head and Block numbers matching R3283-9. We have very loosely assembled the motor. The camshaft bearing caps match the head, the triple SU carbs are proper and have the AUC946F, AUC946C, AUC946R tags. The crank matches the block and the oil pan is a proper un-cracked smooth pan.

The crank was removed to begin a full restoration, but other projects have taken precedence. We purchased this motor disassembled and were told that it was removed from a running car but the restoration stalled. We put it back together to make sure that everything was there and it looks to be a very complete motor. There is a small pin hole in one of the valve covers as seen in the pictures.


This motor is sold as is, it is not running and will need to be completely gone through. Please see pictures for overall condition. This is a great project motor ready for rebuild.
